WHAT ARE THE WORKSHOPS?

Six sessions that become a village

Six sessions over six weeks, in my living room in Montpellier. Seven to eight people, all due with at similar date. English and French.

We cook for the postpartum weeks. We learn infant first aid from a certified trainer. We talk honestly about what the months after birth are actually like. And somewhere in the middle of that, you stop being strangers.

Session 4

Session 5

Living postpartum

A creative session, and an honest conversation about what the months after birth are like.

Session 6

Practical essentials & safety

Car seats, safe sleep, the practical list. Then cake, and a letter to yourself that I'll post to you in six months.

Practicalities

Sessions 1, 2, 3 and 5 are Monday mornings, 10h–12h. Sessions 4 and 6 are Tuesday evenings, 19h–21h, so partners can come.

Partners are welcome to all sessions.

There's a WhatsApp group for each cycle. It's yours to keep — most of them are still going long after I've stopped being in it.

How this fits with your préparation à la naissance

If you're giving birth in France, you're entitled to prenatal preparation sessions with a sage-femme, covered by the Assurance Maladie. Take them. They're good, they're free, and they'll teach you things I can't.

They're also a different thing to this. Those sessions prepare you for the birth. These prepare you for the year that follows it — the cooking, the first aid, the postpartum weeks nobody warns you about — and they put you in a room with eight other people who'll be awake at the same 4am as you.

Most people who come here have done both. That's what I'd recommend.

2027 WORKSHOP CYCLES

Find your cycle

Choose the cycle that starts when you're around 5–7 months pregnant — so you finish with time to settle in before your baby arrives.
