Article 2 — Purpose and scope
These terms govern all non-medical support services provided by Alex Doula to individual clients.
Making a booking means accepting these terms in full. They are provided before any commitment, and you confirm receipt when you book.
Article 3 — What this is, and what it isn't
Alex Doula works as a doula: non-medical emotional, informational and practical support, before, during and after birth.
What it isn't. Doula is not a regulated healthcare profession in France. Alex Doula performs no medical or paramedical acts: no clinical examination, no monitoring of mother or baby, no diagnosis, no prescription, no medical advice. She takes no part in medical decisions and is in no way a substitute for a midwife, doctor or any other health professional.
Support is provided on the basis that you are also receiving regular medical care from a health professional.
Alex Doula does not speak on your behalf and makes no decisions for you.
Article 4 — Services offered
Individual session — 1h30, at your home or by video call
Fertility package — 3 sessions
Pregnancy package — 4 antenatal sessions
Postpartum package — 4 postnatal home visits
Full journey package — 8 sessions, pregnancy and postpartum
Pregnancy loss support — no fixed number of sessions
Prenatal workshops — a cycle of 6 group sessions
Birth attendance and on-call — optional, subject to availability and to your hospital's policy

Article 5 — Prices
Current prices are on the Pricing page, in euros, VAT not applicable. The price that applies is the one displayed on the date your booking is confirmed.
Travel is included within [X] km of Montpellier. Beyond that, a supplement is agreed in advance.
Article 6 — Booking and acceptance
Bookings are confirmed in writing by email. A booking is only final once Alex Doula has confirmed it and you have accepted these terms.
For packages, a deposit of [30%] may be requested at the time of booking.
Article 7 — Payment
Accepted methods: bank transfer, cash, cheque.
Individual sessions are paid at the end of each session. Packages can be paid in full or in instalments, as agreed during the discovery call.
Late payment incurs interest at the legal rate in force, plus a fixed recovery fee of €40 under Article L441-10 of the French Commercial Code.
Article 8 — Right of withdrawal
Under Article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code, you have 14 calendar days from confirmation of your booking to withdraw, without giving a reason and without penalty.
To do so, email alex@alexdoula.fr before the deadline. Any refund is made within 14 days by the same payment method.
Waiver if the service starts early. If you expressly ask for the service to begin before the 14 days are up, you waive your right of withdrawal for any sessions already delivered, under Article L221-25. Sessions not yet delivered remain refundable during the withdrawal period.
Article 9 — Cancellation and rescheduling
By you:
More than 24 hours before: rescheduled free of charge, subject to availability
Less than 24 hours before: the session is charged in full
Package sessions cancelled late are counted as delivered
Unused package sessions are not refundable, except by withdrawal within the legal period
Workshops: full refund if you cancel before the first session. No refund once the cycle has started. Missed sessions are not made up or refunded; you'll receive a summary and any handouts.
On-call: not refundable once the period has begun. Fully refunded if Alex Doula is unable to honour the commitment.
By Alex Doula: if she has to cancel, you'll be offered an alternative date at no extra cost, or a full refund.
Article 10 — Birth attendance
Whether a doula may be present in the delivery room depends on the hospital's policy and cannot be guaranteed. This is discussed with your medical team well in advance.
If the hospital doesn't permit it, support continues as thorough preparation and telephone support, and the arrangement is adjusted accordingly.
Alex Doula undertakes to be contactable throughout any agreed on-call period, save in cases of force majeure (illness, family emergency, or any unforeseeable and insurmountable event).
Article 11 — Confidentiality
Everything shared during our work together is strictly confidential. No information about you or your family is passed on without your explicit written consent, unless required by law.
This obligation continues after our work together ends.
Article 12 — Liability
Alex Doula holds professional liability insurance with [insurer], policy number [number].
Liability is limited to direct damage resulting from proven fault in the performance of the service, and in any event to the amount you paid for the service concerned.
Alex Doula cannot be held responsible for medical decisions, for the outcome of the birth, or for the course of the pregnancy. Those rest entirely with you and your medical team.
Article 13 — Personal data
Data is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy on this site. You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection.
Article 14 — Complaints and mediation
Complaints go to alex@alexdoula.fr. You'll get a reply within 15 days.

Article 15 — Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Failing amicable resolution, any dispute falls to the competent French courts.
